Symptom
When opening the Candidate view in Ad-Hoc Reporting, it is possible to see a field Department, although this fields is not defined on the Candidate Profile. What is this field and where it comes from?
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Open Reporting;
- Select the domaing Recruiting V2:
- Click in Select Columns, choose the Candidate view, and scroll down until you find the Department field:
Cause
This field value is being populated by the User Data File(UDF).
Resolution
The field Department only has values for the Internal candidate, as those are the only ones that have Department. The values are populated from the Employee Profile or User Data File.
As the candidate is internal and has a Employee Profile associated to it, the field department is also created and mapped into the Candidate Profile view for reporting. This was introduced to have some more information about which specific employee the report is referring to, and on this case, in which Department this employee/candidate is currently in.
To see the information, or even update it, it is possible to Download the User Data File via Employee Export in Admin Center.
