2989386 - Default Cancellation Policy is not setting the value on newly created Items

Symptom

When setting the Default Cancellation Policy at the Global Application Settings and creating a new Item, the Cancellation Policy is not being set.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Cancellation Policy in References > Finance > Cancellation Policies
  2. Navigate to System Admin > Configuration > Global Application Settings
  3. Set the newly created Cancellation Policy as the default setting
  4. Create an Item
  5. Go to Pricing at the Item level and see the Cancellation Policy is blank

Resolution

This is an expected behaviour in the new UI since all newly created items have a default classification of Others. Since there's no way to create an item with classification of ILT, the Default Cancellation Policy is not taking effect as a result.

This is resolved in b2105 release as there will be an option to select Item Classification when creating an item.
