2978340 - Calendar - Item revision date - locale date format dd/MMM/yy includes extra dot invalid error

Symptom

When editing an item revision in the new admin UI, you get a validation error noting the date format selected including MMM value and there is a period or dot (".") abbreviating the month in the calendar value displayed in the field.

Environment

SAP Successfactors Learning b2005+

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Choose any locale where when using the date MMM format and the month having more than four characters would be abbreviated.
  2. Attempt to update item revision and see the validation error noting the month includes an extra "." in the field.
  3. Attempt to add or edit time slot date in agenda template

Cause

Due to non-standard international abbreviation of locales the MMM format is including the abbreviation period within the calendar UI framework which causes validation error due to invalid character detected.

Resolution

Identified in INC0081436 as limitation by design of third party java framework due to non-standardized formatting o flocale months.
Workaround is to use a different date format not including MMM on applicable locales.
