2962046 - ASE crashed with Infected Signal 11 (SIGSEGV) at bufsearch_cache_getlatch - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE report the following error:

    Error: 696, Severity: 21, State: 2
    An attempt was made to fetch logical page '858200' from cache 'tempdb_cache1'. Page belongs to database 'tempdb' (102), object '<Unknown>' (0), index '<Unknown>' (0), partition '<Unknown>' (-1432092673) and not to database 'tempdb' (102), object 'temp worktable' (-1432092673), index '<Unknown>' (0), partition '<Unknown>' (-1432092673).
    Restart of ASE will clear the error. Please contact your System Administrator for help.

  • Few mins later,  infected with signal 11 reported in the errorlog and holding the tempdb cache spinlock crashed the ASE. The stack includes:

  • Another symptom is housekeeper crashed while holding tempdb cache spinlock when perform wash. The stack includes:
