2960254 - Link to Job Profile in Employee Profile - Employee Profile

Symptom

How to make the link to Job Profile visible in "Employee Profile", and common issues related to this configuration

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile

Reproducing the Issue

In order to make the link to Job Profile visible, in the profile, make sure that the employee's Role has a Job Code/Classification mapped to it, and that the employee is assigned to this Job Code/Classification.

In order to configure the link to Job Profile, in Employee Profile, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Configure People Profile;
  2. Add an USER_INFO (EP) or Job Information (EC) block;
  3. Add a title to it;
  4. In the "User Fields" section, add a "Job Code" field;
  5. Save it;
  6. Go to "Manage Permission Roles";
  7. Select the required Role;
  8. Click on the "Permission..." button;
  9. Scroll down to "Employee Data" section;
  10. Grant permission to the "Job Code" field;
  11. Save it.

This should make the block visible in the profile, already bringing the Job Profile name, at least.

However, if the link is still not visible after that, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

  • The employee's Role is different from the Role used to create the Job Profile;
  • The Job Profile exists and is associated to the right role but:

    • The subModule is "RCM";
    • The Position of the Profile is "Null" - In case this is a Position-Based Job Profile;
    • The Job Profile is set to "Draft" or "Inactive".

Resolution

If the link to Job Profile is still not visible in the Profile, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

  • The employee's Role is different from the Role used to create the Job Profile;

    If this is the case, then create a new Job Profile, using employee's Role.

  • The Job Profile exists and is associated to the right role but:

    • The subModule is "RCM";
      If this is the case, then please investigate if the Job Profile with no subModule was deleted or transformed into "RCM".
      If deleted, please create a new one;
      If transformed into "RCM", just change it back to "no subModule".

    • The Position of the Profile is "Null" - In case this is a Position-Based Job Profile;
      If the created Job Profile is a Position-Based Job Profile, then please make sure that the its Position is not "Null".
      Please note that this should not affect Role-Based Job Profiles.

    • The Job Profile is set to "Inactive" or "Draft".
      If the Job Profile is "Inactive", please reactivate it. Otherwise it will not work, and the link to it will not display in the Profile.

      All Job Profiles are created as "Draft", in order to allow you to perform changes to it before the activation.
      Therefore, if the Job Profile being used by you is set to "Draft" then please activate it in the "gear" icon, located in the right hand side of the "Manage Job Profiles" screen.
      In case there are lots of Job Profiles in "Draft" and you want to activate all of them, please:

      1. Go to "Manage Job Profile Content Import/Export";
      2. Export the "Job Profiles" file;
      3. Go to "Monitor Job";
      4. Download the file;
      5. Find all Job Profiles that are set to "Draft - TRUE" and change this collumn's value from "TRUE" to "FALSE";
      6. Then, go back to "Manage Job Profile Content Import/Export";
      7. Select "Job Profile" on the "Type" drop-down list;
      8. Select the edited file;
      9. Choose the best "Purge Type" (usually set to "Incremental Load");
      10. Hit the "Import" button;
      11. Go to "Monitor Job";
      12. Check the import progress (it might take a while for the changes to take effect);
      13. After the import is complete, go to "Manage Job Profiles" and check if the Job Profiles that were previously set to "Draft" were updated to "Active".
