2960167 - Unable to schedule reports to Office 365 using SMTP email

Symptom

  • After configuring Adaptive Job Server's email destination to Office 365 SMTP server, scheduling any report to email fails.
  • Some of the errors the schedule fails with may be:
    • "login error. [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]: [Authentication failed with [Login] authentication protocol. Return code: [SMTP 535 - Authentication failed (bad user name and password).].]"
    • "server error. [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]: [SSL negotiation has failed during setup of the SMTP server connection, please ensure your SSL configuration is correct on both the client and the server.] "
    • "write error. [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]: [Error sending mail message to SMTP server. Return code: [554].]"
    • "write error. [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]: [Error sending mail message to SMTP server. Return code: [4].]"
    • "server error. [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]: [Error initializing SMTP server. Return code: [[230]]. Reason: [smtp.office365.com:587].]"
