2953970 - Parent-Child relationship OR associations not working for Generic Object fields on Career Site

Symptom

Parent-Child relationship OR associations are not working for Generic Object fields like Company, Division, Department etc;

This relation works fine in the Job Requisition Detail page but in the career site when you configure it from Internal and External Career Search Settings with the right grid and search order, they do not work as expected on the career site(internal and external)

And, it just lists the entire lot in the child object irrespective of the selection in the parent object.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

For example :

Have two generic object fields in your requisition for example, Division and Department.

The Department values will depend on the value selected under Division, this works as expected in the Job Requisition detail page.

Now, enable these generic objects to appear on your career site with the right grid and search order so that the Division is before the Department.

Go to your career site and select a particular value in Division for which the Department lists out the respective values associated to the Division value but, you will see that irrespective of the selection in Division all the values of Department will be listed.

And, even if there is no value selected in Division, you can see that all the values are appearing in the dropdown of Department.

Whereas Parent child relationship works as expected for cascading picklists on the career site.  Until and unless the parent picklist value is selected, no values will appear for the child picklist.

Resolution

We have tested the same on our Demo instances and the Product Management has confirmed that this is expected behavior of the system and as of now the Parent-Child relationship OR associations will not work for standard Generic objects (Company, Division, Department, Location etc;) on the Career Site.

To verify the feasibility of having this included in a future version of the system, please submit an enhancement request by following the instructions available in the article linked to this incident: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2090228
