2948468 - Internal jobs posted on the Internal Career Site powered by CSB are indexed by search engines

Symptom

Internal only jobs are appearing on the Search Engines results.
Expectation is that such jobs should not appear at all on Search Engines as they should not be indexed.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Marketing
  • Internal Career Site powered by CSB

Reproducing the Issue

Internal jobs are appearing in Search Engines results
Inspecting the code of internal only jobs on the ICS, the code <meta name="robots" content="index" /> can be seen which suggests a page is indexed.

Cause

The code inserts <meta name="robots" content="index" /> for all jobs regardless if they are external or internal.

Resolution

NOTE : The code inserts <meta name="robots" content="index" /> for all jobs regardless if they are external or internal but the actual internal content is hidden behind the IAS authentication so internal jobs cannot be accessed even if their title appears in search results.

To prevent any indexing of Internal-only jobs, RMK is modifying the code so that the following line is added to internal-only jobs:
<meta name="robots" content="noindex" />
This code change will be delivered with b2011.
