2920107 - How to analyze detailed error log files of SUM during the update/upgrade of a NetWeaver ABAP system

Symptom

You are running SUM for the ABAP system update/upgrade. When an error occurred in certain phase, a trouble ticket and a log archive (.sar) file are generated. In the SUM error screen, you may find the following information.

*******************************************
A trouble ticket and an archive with all relevant log files have been
generated.
Trouble ticket: "/usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/abap/log/SAPup_troubleticket.log"
Log archive: "/usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/abap/log/SAPup_troubleticket.sar"
*******************************************

In this document, you will get the steps how to analyze the detailed error logs based on them.

(Please note, in some phases, the trouble ticket and the log archive file may not be generated. Instead, the error message and how to resolve it are just mentioned on the SUM screen. In this case, the situation is much easier. So you can just follow it to resolve the issue. In the current document, we only talk about how to analyze the detailed logs in the generated archive file.)
