In Employee Central, once you terminate an employee the effective date of the job information record should be N+1 were N is the termination date in employment details section.
This means that if I terminate an employee with an termination date of December 31 2019 the expected effective date of the job information record is Jan 1 2020.
A customer reported an issue were the effective date of the job information record is the same as the termination date.
SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
1. Go to the profile of the employee you want to terminate > click on "Take Action" > Terminate.
2. Fill up all the required fields in the termination screen and make the effective date as December 31 2019.
3. Approve all the required approvals and you will see that the effective date (in this example) of the job information record is December 31 2019 instead of January 1 2020.
In one instance, the cause of the issue is an invalid business rule configuration that triggers the termination workflow under employment details.
As you will see at the Set statement below, drilling down to "employment details > employment details > wfconfig" is an invalid configuration.
To correct this, you need to modify the rule and directly reference wfConfig from Employment Details. Employment Details > wfConfig.
