2830168 - work flow rules with fields other than available in standard list

Symptom

You could not find the field  while creating work flow rule

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Application user management work center
  2. Go to work flow rules view
  3. Click on new button
  4. In the second step click on add group
  5. In the drop down you can see the extension field

Cause

You need to create extension field

Resolution

For example: You wanted to create a workflow rule that send an email when an order has been Acknowledged.

 Follow below steps  to create extension field:

  1. Go to purchase request and order work center
  2. Go to Purchase orders view
  3. Choose all Purchase orders
  4. Decide whether you want to use column "Status" value(Acknowledgement Received) or the column" PO acknowledgement status" value(Acknowledged)
  5. Then using adaptation mode  create one extension field,
  6. in the pop up screen where you enter details of Extension field you have one check box "Calculated", check * it
  7. you can see new field "Calculation rule" choose either Status (Status/PurchaseOrderLifeCycleStatusCode) or PO Acknowledgment Status (Status/PurchaseOrderConfirmationStatusCode) as per the decision made earlier and save it
  8. Later click on save button in the adaptation screen and then publish the changes on adaptation screen.

 Then

  1. Go to Application user management work center
  2. Go to work flow rules view
  3. Click on new button
  4. In the second step click on add group
  5. In the drop down you can see the extension field
