This Knowledge Base Article is to document all major enhancements that customers should be aware of in Q3 1908 release. Also provides one stop shop for all out MDF Framework and Rule related features and their details.

LOD-SF-MDF-PKL MDF-28479 New capabilities on the Large picklists via the UI On the new UI for large picklists, you can now edit the external code value for picklists and picklist values, edit the effective start date for a specific picklist version, view additional information about the user who updates the selected version on the Versions page, view new warning messages when the user deletes picklists, picklist values, and picklist versions in the application, and view the parent picklist summary without navigating away from the current picklist.

Before: We had limitations with respect to edit the large picklists and its properties via the UI and had to do so using Import.

After: Now we have sme enhanced capabilities which enables us to make changes in the large picklists via the UI only.

LOD-SF-MDF-MGD MDF-30632 Enhanced appearance of Search Criteria in Manage Data page. The Advanced search link on the Manage Data page is no longer visible. You now see the “Include Inactive” dropdown option for all object definitions and the “Search As Of” dropdown option for objects with effective dating properties. Previously, the “Include Inactive” and “Search As Of” options were hidden under the Advanced search link that was not always visible to end users. Furthermore, you could only see records for object definitions as of “today” and the results only showed active records

LOD-SF-MDF-PKL MDF-29129 Custom sorting ordering for MDF Picklist Values. Previously, you could not define a sort order for large picklists when you selected the “Custom” display order. Now, when you choose the "Custom" display order for large picklists, you can enter a numeric "Sort Order" value that defines how the picklist values are displayed on the Manage Data page.

Before: We could not define a sort order for large picklists when you selected the “Custom” display order.

After: Now can enter a numeric "Sort Order" value that defines how the picklist values are displayed on the Manage Data page.

MDF-30354

Changed section header for DPP in Extension Center to remove RAL We have renamed the Read Access and Change Log Configuration section on the Object Detail screen in Extension Center to Change Log Configuration. The Read Access Log configuration section has been removed as it was never supported. You can use the Change Log Configuration section to specify the fields to be added to the change logs to indicate which model the fields come from.

Before: In Extension Center, the name of the section was "Read Access and Change Log Configuration" but the Read Access Log configuration was never supported.

After: Now, the section has been renamed to "Change Log Configuration" and this can be used  to specify the fields to be added to the change logs

LOD-SF-MDF-OBJ MDF-28564 Replaced User Id with Assignment ID for Audit Information on Manage Data. On the Manage Data page, audit information now displays assignment ID instead of the user ID.

Before: In Manage data page, audit information used to display User Id.

After: Now, audit information displays assignement Id instead of the User Id.

LOD-SF-MDF-PKL MDF-30276 Enabled 'Complete History' for picklist  Previously, the MDF Version History option was disabled by default for MDF picklists. This meant that you could not generate a Change Audit Report for picklist changes. Now, by default, the MDF Version History is set to Complete History, so that you can generate a Change Audit report for all picklist changes.

Before: The "MDF Version History" option was disabled by default for MDF picklists. (Means MDF object with code Picklist) which means that audit culd not be generated for Picklists.

After:  Now, by default, the MDF Version History is set to Complete History, so that you can generate a Change Audit report for all picklist changes.

LOD-SF-MDF-MGD MDF-24167 Changed Search behavior on Manage Data page. Previously, search results displayed on the UI only showed results when the entire input text matched with the search text for searchable fields such as External Code or External Name. Now, you can view all records containing even a part of the search text. For example, if you searched for the value "Sales Marketing", all records with the values "Sales" or "Marketing" are displayed in the search results. Also, the order of the text no longer matters, so you will see results for "Marketing Sales" as well.

LOD-SF-MDF-RUL MDF-30123 Enhanced processing of Post Save Rules configured on Child Object. Previously save rules that ran on parent objects with effective dated child objects (FROM_PARENT) were ignored. Now, the rules run on child objects as well.

Before: The Post Save rules that ran on parent objects with effective dated child objects (FROM_PARENT) were ignored.

After: Now, these Post Save rules run on child objects as well.

LOD-SF-MDF-PKL MDF-30385 Prevented Full Purge of Picklist alone (without Picklist Values) Previously, picklist import using the Full Purge option in CSV format resulted in reference data being lost and non-recoverable. To prevent such issues, you are no longer allowed to perform the picklist import using the Full Purge option in CSV format. To do a full purge of your picklist, you must use the ZIP import option along with its picklist values.

After: Now, we no longer support the picklist import using the Full Purge option in CSV format. To do a full purge of your picklist, you must use the ZIP import option along with its picklist values.

LOD-SF-MDF-IMP MDF-26328 Enhance MDF Import/Export to support "Identity Type" The Import and Export Data tool now supports the assignment ID as an identity type. You can choose between user ID and assignment ID in the new Identity Type field. The identity type you select will be included in the exported template and data, and it will be used to validate the user information during data import. Previously, user ID was the default and only identity type. 

Before: In Import and Export Data tool, user ID was the default and only identity type.

After: Now, we support the assignment ID as an identity type. We can choose between user ID and assignment ID in the new Identity Type field. The identity type we select will be included in the exported template and data, and it will be used to validate the user information during data import.

RUL-360 Supported copy and Paste between IF-/ELSE-IF part of rule definition You can now copy and paste expressions from IF conditions to ELSE IF conditions when configuring a business rule. When pasting, the system no longer prompts you to choose a logical condition to join the expressions.

Before: There was no option to copy and paste the expressions used in the rule

After: Now, we can re-use the expressions by copying and pasting them while configuring the rule.
