Symptom
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
When creating an Item the following application error is generated
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) - All Supported Versions
Reproducing the Issue
-
Create a new Item. Note the ID and revision date of what is created. Save.
-
Without making any additional updates to the Item, delete the Item.
- Now create a new item with the same Item ID but earlier revision date/time.
- Error is generated.
Cause
Within your instance, an Item with the same ID had already existed but was subsequently deleted. A record of this Item still exists within the database.
For example you are trying to create an Item with the ID of ITEM_123 with a revision date of 1st June 2019. But the item which was originally created and deleted already has the ID ITEM_123 and a revision date of 1st July 2019.
Resolution
You will need to change the ID of the Item you are creating and/or use a revision date which is after 1st July 2019.
If this is not possible for whatever business reason, then you will need to reach out to Professional Services. The only way then around this error would be to be make changes to the database and the Item ID which was originally created by then deleted.
