2781523 - FAQ: Product Availability Check (PAC) with aATP

FAQ for Product Availability check with advanced ATP (AATP).

  • S/4 Hana
  • Advanced ATP

SAP S/4HANA all versions

Prüfung, Verfügbarkeit, Bedarf,

  1. Can we still use the original "old" ERP-ATP in S4 Hana?

In S4 Hana you can choose between these three ATP solutions:

  • "old" ERP-ATP (old coding is still in S4 Hana available)
  • "new" advanced ATP (in S4 Hana)
  • connect GATP via an SCM/APO system

It is possible to run all three ATP solutions in parallel. e.g. material1 will be checked via ERP-ATP, material2 will be checked by AATP and material3 via GATP.

  1. Is there a special license requirement for the activation of aATP in S/4 HANA?

Yes, it's necessary to buy the license “SAP S/4HANA Advanced Available-to-Promise (7019874)” on top of the S/4HANA Enterprise license.

The SAP S/4HANA Fashion and Vertical Business license has the aATP license included.

  1. We can not see/find the aATP-APPs in the Fiori Launchpad. Whats missing?

The following three roles are required (for the userid in the FRONTEND system) to access or to see the aATP-APPs in the Fiori Launchpad:

If you still cant see/find the APPs, please check question 2.

  1. We want to modify the aATP check - which userexits/BADI's are available?

The "old" userexits "EXIT_SAPLATPC_001" and "EXIT_SAPLATPC_002" are still being called before and after the aATP check. But there are no other userexits/BADIs available to modify the AATP check (yet). Please note that customer exits are an outdated technology and that the further usage in context of Advanced ATP cannot be guaranteed for future releases. Also, the content from table T_ATPCSX is not considered in all cases; in most cases, the relevant ATP-result is stored in table T_MDVEX (which can be changed within the "EXIT_SAPLATPC_002"). Please consider note 308222 - User exits ATP00001 in context of advanced ATP!

  1. We use a distribution key in the production version for a production order. Why is the system not considering this continuous output correctly?

This functionality will be avaiable with the 2020 on premise release or later. Due to technical restrictions this functionality can not be downported to lower releases.

  1. Getting errors using API "API_PRODUCT_AVAILY_INFO_BASIC" to get ATP data. Where can we find further information?

Please check API Docu:

Example URL: https://......./sap/opu/odata/sap/API_PRODUCT_AVAILY_INFO_BASIC/DetermineAvailabilityAt?SupplyingPlant='0001'&Material='000001'&ATPCheckingRule='A'&RequestedUTCDateTime=datetimeoffset'2019-01-01T00:00:00Z'

  1. A sales order created via "API_SALES_ORDER_SRV" does not have a confirmed schedule line/quantity. What can be the reason?

Please verify that the manual sales order creation works fine and you have enough cumulated ATP quantity (stock and/or receipt elements) available. Make sure that you do not set delivery block or reason for rejection for the order item or order header.

  1. What is the button/function "Check Group Availability" (FCODE= GVFP) for?

The "Check Group Availability" button checks all items that have not been checked before. If there is NO shortage then no availability screen will be shown as usual. If there is a shortage then the screen will show up. Note that after the items have been entered anyway the availability is checked, thats why only changed items will be checked. You can use this button instead of pressing "Enter".

  1. Can we use variant configuration and e.g. map batch characteristics to use them in aATP for the PAC check?

That's not possible currently. You may use batches to model e.g. different shelf life as we support PAC check on batch level. All other functionality comes according to roadmap.

  1. Is a characteristic based ATP check possible with AATP?

This is a missing functionality which might be available someday in the future. , KBA , CA-ATP-PAC , ATP: Product Availability Check , CA-ATP , Available to Promise (ATP) , Problem
