You have created a Sales Order and maintained a Requested Date. You released the same to Logistics Execution. However, when you check the schedule lines of the Customer Demand, you notice that there is a difference between the Requested Delivery Date in the Sales Order and the Execution Start and the Shipping/Pickup Dates proposed by the system. You are wondering where the difference is coming from, since you have not maintained any Shipping Duration in the Transport Lane, nor Goods Issue Processing Time in the Material Master of the related Product.

Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Sales Orders work center.
- Go to the Sales Orders view.
- Find and select the related Sales Order.
- Click the Edit button and then View All.
- Go to the Items tab.
- You can see a Customer Requested Date on Item level.
- Go to the Confirmation Schedules sub-tab.
- Go to the Document Flow tab and show the Extended View.
- Open the Logistics Details of the related Customer Demand/Sales Order.
- Go to the Line Items tab and then to the Schedule Lines sub-tab.
- You can see that the Requested and Confirmed Execution Start Date and Shipment/Pickup/Issue Dates are different from the Requested Date in the Sales Order.
- You check the relevant Transport Lane and you can see that there's no Shipping Duration/Lead time maintained.
- You also check the Material Master of the Product and the Goods Issue Processing Time is maintained as zero.
- And when you check the Calendar of the Site, the Site Calendar has 5 Working Days which does not allow Weekend Execution of Delivery.
The calculation of Shipment and Execution Start Dates is explained as follows:
Shipment Date is Requested Date minus Shipping Duration.
It considers the working days of the Site Calendar. If Goods Issue (GI) Processing Time is maintained, it also considers the Operating Hours of the Site.
Execution Start Date is Shipment Date minus Goods Issue Processing Time.
It considers the working days of Site Calendar. The Time Zones are also taken into consideration during the calculation of dates.
The Site and the User who created/released the Sales Order are in different Time Zones and the difference in the Dates arises from the conversion of the date of the Site to the User Time Zone.
This is the correct system behavior. Date calculation takes the user and the Site time zones into consideration.
