You notice that when a business user logs into the system, he is missing some work centers or work center views, despite having the relevant access rights.
SAP Cloud for Customer
Generally, the business user's access rights require an update. Sometimes, however, this can also be caused by issues in the business user's org unit assignment.
To update the business user's access rights:
- Go to the Administrator work center.
- Access the Business Users view.
- Search for the affected business user.
- Select it.
- Click the button to Update Access Rights and choose the option Update Selected User(s).
If the work centers and/or work center views are still missing for this user, unassign the user's business role and assign it again. If the warning message "View XYZ can't be assigned since no restrictions could be determined" (where XYZ stands for the view's ID) is raised, check the access restrictions for this view in the relevant business role.
Usually, the restriction rule will be dependent on an org unit assignment such as a sales organization, for example — in this case, if the org unit to which the user is assigned is NOT a sales organization or does not have a sales organization in its immediate hierarchy, the system will not assign the work center (or work center view).
This is because, if the system is unable to set the access restriction because the org unit configuration is not set as necessary, it will prefer to deny all access of the user to the work center/work center view in question, preventing the user from accessing data it might not be allowed to see or edit.
In this case, correct the user's org unit assignment in accordance to the restriction rule and the missing work center or work center view should become available. If not, run an access right update as described above.
If the issue still persists, please report an incident.
