Resolution

  • Default limits that can be modified:
       
    • 8,000 is the default maximum number of database objects displayed in the Database Expert.  1215994
    • 200 is the default number for a parameter List of Values displayed in a batch.  1381361
    • 1,000 is the default number of values in a Dynamic Parameter List of Values.   1218588
    • 32MB-64MB is the default JVM memory allocation for Java based connectivity.  1294557
    • 10 minutes is the default timeout for JDBC connectivity.  1199267
    • 1 minute is the default time out for XML Web service connection.  1487766
    • 10,000 is the default Packet Size for MDX connection.  1767542
    • 200 is the default maximum number of values for an SAP variable.  1263041
       
         
  • Hard limits that cannot be modified:
       
    • 65,534 is the maximum number of characters that can be entered in a string parameter.  2172184
    • 65,534 is the maximum number of characters for a string field, formula field and Text Object.  1554236
    • 15 digits is the maximum number of digits for a Number field. 1207137
    • 2 GB is the maximum memory limit for any 32 bit Windows application.   2465542    ( Note: Crystal Reports 2020 is a 64bit application and not bound to this limit. )
    • 65,536 rows and 256 columns is the maximum number of rows and columns when exporting to MS Excel format (.xls)  1254178   
         
  • Important Note:
          
    • There are no maximum limits of a number of records, report pages, report subsections, inserted OLE objects or subreports, but report developers should keep in mind the higher the number, the slower the report performance, and the more memory the report will use, which could lead to an out of memory error due to 32bit application memory limit.
