2712718 - Error Occurs when Create Lead: Please enter a contact for the party with role Account


When create a new lead, the error "Please enter a contact for the party with role Account" occurs upon saving.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales work center.
  2. Go to Leads view.
  3. Click on New button to create a new lead.
  4. Fill in the mandatory fields.
  5. Click Save.  Then the error occurs.


In Business Configuration > Leads activity, customer has set the "Contact of Account" field as Forbid Manual Change, which means Not allow mamual changes of contact relevant in the lead.


  1. Go to Business Configuration.
  2. Go to Overview view.
  3. Search for the activity Leads and open it.
  4. open the Maintain Involved Parties link.
  5. Here, for "Contact of Account" party, uncheck "Forbid Manual Change"
