2694456 - HANA DB Restore Failing

Symptom

  • You tried to restore from a file based data backup without logreplay but got an error message similar to the following:

ERROR RECOVERY RECOVER DATA finished with error: [449] recovery strategy could not be determined, [1000002] Allocation failed ; $size$=3098476543630901256; $name$=BackupRecoveryAllocator; $type$=pool; $inuse_count$=6; $allocated_size$=140056

  • You do not have backint enabled

 

  • In nameserver trace files you found entries like

 Backup BackupSrc_Catalog.cpp(00176) : found backup catalog < backup catalog id> from backint /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/backint/log_backup_0_0_0_0
 Memory GlobalMemoryHandler.cpp(04500) : OUT OF MEMORY occurred, single request beyond process allocation limit (bytesToReserve=<a very large number, e.g.10e+18>).
