Before upgrading to CE1805 in an S/4 HANA Cloud test system, SD document numbers are mostly in sequence.
After upgrading to CE1805, sales document numbers are not sequential.
It happens to sales orders, quotations and other SD documents but except billing documents.

Reproducing the Issue
Open app "Create Sales Order", and then input order type OR and the sales area details.
In the next screen, fill in all the required fields and then save this order. System generates an order with number like 221.
Create another sales order with same steps, system generates the new order number like 321. The next order may then be created with number 421 or 222 or 322. This depends on which work process is assigned for the next creation.
The order numbers are not sequential.
- To improve system performance, in the new edition CE1805 of S/4 HANA Cloud, SD number ranges were changed to be buffered and use package of 100 numbers for each work process.
- In different buffer packages, they contain different numbers. For example, the first buffer package has numbers from 221 to 320. The second buffer package has numbers from 321 to 420.
- In the order creation, system uses different work processes with different buffer packages, so the generated SD document numbers are not sequential.
As the sequential SD document numbers are expected for customers, the system behaviour will be changed back to the logic before CE1805 upgrading.
For the S/4 HANA Cloud test systems, the correction will be delivered by the next hotfix. But it may take some time to make the numbers sequential again due to existing numbers in buffer packages.
For S/4 HANA Cloud production systems, the reported problem doesn't affect them as the upgrading to production systems are not in process yet.
