2642866 - LMS - Items assigned through user needs management are not available on users learning plan and missing Assigned By data

Symptom

  • Admin has assigned Curricula to multiple users with the User Needs Management tool and the items are not appearing on the User's learning plan
  • From the LMS Admin, the User Record shows the Items assigned in the Assigned Items related list, but the Assigned By column is blank
  • Running the Learning Needs and other LMS reporting shows the Items and Curricula assigned to the Users, but the Assigned By (or Added By) and Add User fields are blank

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon to LMS Admin
  2. Go to Users > Tools > User Needs Mgmt
  3. Select 'Add Job-related Curricula' and click Next
  4. Click add one or more from list and search for users
  5. Click
  6. Click Add, then Next
  7. Add the Curriculum to be assigned, Click next
  8. Confirm the information, Click next
  9. Schedule or run the job
  10. Once it is finished, note that the Items are not listed
  11. Check from the Admin side, and the Items are there, but the User Records show blank fields for Assigned By
  12. Reporting shows blank fields for Add User, Add Username and Assigned By

Cause

  • The background job triggered by selecting "Select all the Users of the search results" option in User --> Tools --> User Needs Management --> Add Job-related Curricula wizard is not passing the Add User and Add User Name
  • Since the Add User info is missing, the assignments are not shown on user's learning plan

Resolution

This defect has been resolved in the production release of 1805 under LRN-34615

Curriculum assignments made prior to the fix using the steps above are not corrected by the fix and will continue to be missing the Assigned By field

Workarounds:

  • Remove and readd the Curriculum in 1805 using the User Needs Management tool
  • Remove and readd the Curriculum without the User Needs Management tool in 1802 and previous versions:
    • Remove with User Needs Mgmt
    • Re-add using another method such as Connector, or manual assignment
  • If the above two options are not possible, raise a support Incident to request further assistance
