2603802 - page keeps hanging due to RFC connection problem when a buisness role is selected

Symptom

  • When a non-IC buisness role is assigned to function profile ERP_SALES_ORDER, or IC business role is assigned to function profile ERP_SALES_ORDER or CONTACTCENTER, the browser keeps loading when opening the business role.
    The page shows 'Starting SAP CRM':

    Or shows 'Starting':
    Starting.png
  • When this issue happens, there is no Javascript error in the frontend even the flag 'Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) is unchecked in IE menu 'Tools'->'Internet Options'->'Advanced'.
  • If the hanging is long enough and reaches some timeout parameter, timeout page might occur:
