What is the difference between competency GUID and ID? How do they behave in JDM and Job profile builder?

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Manage job profile content and select competency
  2. Under Job profile builder the GUID and CompetencyID are different

  3. However under previous version (JDM) the two entities are the same




This is expected as the two tool work differently. Nevertheless the important thing to remember is to have CompetencyID matching the one coming from the Form. (The common competency ID should also be the same for all languages)

Common Competency ID is the identifier used to hardwire or ‘map’ competencies to a PM or 360 form. This also cannot be changed by an individual – it is system generated. The system determines the common competency ID by a combination of the GUID, the library and the source of the competency.

GUID: This is an alpha numeric identifier for the competency owned by the source of the library. The source can be the customer, the creator of the library (Lominger, DDI, etc), SuccessFactors – whoever created the library. This is defined by the library owner and can be changed in the system.
