2520129 - How to create a "buy more save more promotion" using new promotion rules framework

Symptom

The business requirement is to create a buy more save more promotion (BMSM).

BMSM promotion is a tiered promotion which works for incremental quantity additions to the cart.

The discount is only awarded if a particular product in the cart reaches the threshold as against the whole cart.

Example of BMSM :

  • Buy 1 or 2 Kitchen Aid Appliances and get 10% off
  • Buy 3 or 4 Kitchen Aid Appliances and get 20% off
  • Buy 5 or more Kitchen Aid Appliances get 25% off

In above example, if the aggregated quantities of product in all cart entries meets the quantity specified in the promotion condition then the promotion should be applied for each products in the cart entries as opposed to evaluate the quantities of product at cart entry level.

If Buy 3 or 4 Kitchen Aid Appliances and get 20% off is set up, 1st cart entry has qualified product with quantity of 1, 2nd cart entry has qualified product with quantity of 2, the 3rd cart entry has non-qualified product with quantity of 3 then the promotion should be applied on products on 1st and 2nd entries but not on 3rd entry.

Buy any 3 (this can be any number) products from Tools category AND get 10% discount on each product
