The purpose of this KBA is to help SAP customers obtain a general idea of potential fixed situations in future Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) EBF/SP or PL releases. Please be sure to read the Disclaimer below.
If the EBF/SP has been released, check the CR list and coverletter at the service.sap.com.
Disclaimer: This document lists the targeted (not committed) release dates and the targeted fixed CR list for each release. Please be aware that the purpose of this posting is solely to provide you, our customers with estimated release dates and targeted CR lists. SAP does not commit to releasing on the specified dates or to including the CR fixes in the said release. While every effort will be made to meet the said targets, changes can occur at any time. It is also possible (although unlikely) that SAP may decide not to release an EBF/SP that was previously scheduled for release.
Please note that ADO.NET fixes are only for Windows environments.
|ADO.NET||795269||ADO.NET: ADO.NET provider throws AccessViolation Exception while making a connection to ASE. See KBA 2273429 -(did not fix customers issue)|
|C||802742||CPRE: esqlc application connecting to ASE HADR does not failover to secondary when primary is down. See KBA 2376820|
|DBD:SybaseASE||802657||PERL: Perl version 5.24 is now also supported for the platforms and modes that already supported Perl 5.14.|
|Directory Services||796080||LDAP: Update OpenLDAP library to version 2.4.44. OpenSSL has been removed from the library and has been replaced by SAP's dynamically loadable Common Crypto Library.|
|JDBC Driver||804604||For connection property HOMOGENEOUS_BATCH = TRUE and DYNAMIC_PREPARE = TRUE, on trying to set NULL value to first row in batch with database column data type "TEXT" and client specifies "VARCHAR" type using api: preparedStatement.setNull(*, java.sql.Types.VARCHAR), server crashes and incorrect data is set for subsequent columns. See KBA 2457863|
|JDBC Driver||802126||jConnect : Performance impact is seen for CallableStatement when used with batch and having maximum parameter count of 32K.|
|ODBC Driver||803305||ODBC Driver: When executing a query with ORDER BY position greater than 255, the query fails with the error, "Bad TDS response stream received from server. Unexpected token type received". See KBA 2381198|
|bcp||803602||BCP: BCP now can transfer data into tables in SQLScript databases.|
|ctlib||800955||CTLIB: When connecting to ASE with a user that is assigned a default database, but the user is not a valid user in the database, the login attempt failed with the error: "There is a tds state machine error. An illegal tds token sequence was received". CT-Library now raises the correct error, "Server user id <x> is not a valid user in database...". See KBA 2419744|
|ctlib||800355||CTLIB: In conjunction with support for TLS 1.1 and 1.2, retrieval of CS_PROP_SSL_PROTOVERSION property will return the negotiated protocol version after a connection has been established. See KBA 2343181|
|ctlib||798137||CTLIB: A new keyword SslVersion has been added to support SSL protocol version in the connection string.|
|ctlib||796005||CTLIB/SRVLIB: Added support for TLS 1.1 and 1.2. See KBA 2333454|
|ctlib||795291||CTLIB: ct_get_data() stops processing rows leading to rows missing from the result set when a warning, such as one that is raised when an untranslatable character is encountered, was received. See KBA 2333475|
|ctlib||793749||CTLIB: Failures while executing a Dynamic Prepare statement could result in Segmentation Violation ('Infected with signal 11') in routine ct__tds_dynres_undo(). See KBA 2321379|
|scl||802453||KERBEROS: Eliminated the requirement to use the exact Kerberos-driver name (libsybskrb.so/dll or libsybskrb64.so/dll) in the network configuration files libtcl.cfg/libtcl64.cfg. A minimum name of 'sybskrb' or 'SYBSKRB' now suffices for the network library to pick op the correct kerberos driver.|
|srvlib||804713||CTLIB: On Windows, a race condition during force close can result in SSL connections being unresponsive.|
|srvlib||801931||SRVLIB/CTLIB: To remove weaker 3DES and RC4 cipher suites from the list of default ciphers. SRVLIB applications that need to support 3DES can use a new environment variable SYBOCS_SRVLIB_CIPHER to set the list of comma-delimited ciphers at runtime. CTLIB applications can use the runtime configuration file to set the list of ciphers.|
|srvlib||800800||SRVLIB: Reading of dynamic SQL parameters leaked memory in srv__getparamdata(). See KBA 2419760|
|srvlib||796955||SRVLIB: Reading dynamic parameters containing numeric datatype failed in cs_convert() followed by the error message, 'Unknown token (token number = 215) TDS stream received'. See KBA 2333451|
|srvlib||753020||SRVLIB: Memory leak in encrypted password connection handling.|
|sypydb||802682||PYTHON: The python module may raise a ProgrammingError when using readinto() method on LOB object in case the TEXT/IMAGE column contains NULL. See KBA 2399106|
