2487134 - The Intercompany Project is not Created Automatically

Symptom

The intercompany project is not created automatically in your intercompany relevant sales order.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

Pre-requisite is that the sales order is created from the purchase order .

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. Go to the Sales Order work center.
  2. Go to the Sales Order view.
  3. Edit the Sales Order .
  4. Go to View All.
  5. Go to the Items tab.

You can see that for the item the Project Task field is empty or the Project Task field is missing and Create Project button grayed out.

Cause

Intercompany project has not been created out of intercompany relavent sales order because the item type is not project related. The item type should be Service - time and maerial (project).

Resolution

To prevent this issue please change the product master data ,so that for  newly created the sales orders the system determine the correct item type.

  1. Go to the Sales Order work center.
  2. Go to the Sales Order view.
  3. Edit the Sales Order.
  4. Go to View All.
  5. Go to the Items tab.
  6. Double click on the Item then the system will direct you to product data.
  7. Navigate to Sales tab.
  8. Under Distribution Chains choose relevant Sales organization same as sales order  and choose the Item Group PBTM - Service - time and material (project).

 For existimg sales orders with wrong Item type, cancel it and its respective Purchase order and then create new Purhcase order
