2453281 - Can Inactive Items be recorded by Users?


The option to allow users to record courses completion on their own is enabled on your environment and you want to know if users can record the completion status for inactive items as well.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on LMS as a user
  2. On the Links Tile, select the 'Record Learning' option
  3. On the next page, select Item Based event
  4. Search for a course on the catalog

Users cannot record completion for inactive items, even with the option for ‘User can record learning events for items’ enabled on LMS Administration > System Admin > Configuration > User Settings > User Learning Event Recording Defaults.

When the user starts the process to record completion for an item (as demonstrated on the Reproducing the Issue session), he should choose an item from the catalog. If the item is inactive, then it will not appear on the catalog. Therefore, users would not be able to record completion for inactive items.
