2445621 - PI Mail Adapter - Client was not authenticated error

Symptom

  • You are attempting to configure a Mail Receiver Adapter in Process Integration (PI) or Process Orchestration (PO) with SMTP
  • The mail server you are connecting to e.g. Office365, requires TLS authentication
  • Using the XPI Inspector tracing tool, with Example 50 or Example 11, you can collect the full error information
  • The error below occurs:
    Unable to call the caller service :
    [EXCEPTION]
    Failed to call the endpoint ; nested exception caused by:
    MAIL_SNT_FAILjava.io.IOException: server not responding OK to MAIL FROM; 530 5.7.57 SMTP; Client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail during MAIL FROM 
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.srt.BubbleException: Failed to call the endpoint [null "null"]; nested exception caused by: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Invalid SSL message, peer seems to be talking plain!
