2435227 - "Access denied to the requested resource" error when performing catalog search in integrated LMS


  • Error: Access denied to the requested resource. Ticket xxxxx is displayed when learning users search the catalog.
  • Error: Report the following error to your system administrator:  followed by a java error.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access Learning from BizX homepage.
  2. From the catalog search bar or the catalog browse page, enter search term(s).
  3. Error is displayed.

*Note: Error will not display if learning user is logged into the LMS natively.


The issue is occurring due to incomplete Jam configuration from LMS Admin:

  • Jam integration is enabled in LMS_ADMIN properties.
  • Jam page URL is not configured in BIZX properties.

This issue can be resolved by either completing the Jam integration, or disabling it.

Solution 1:

  1. Navigate to System Admin > Configuration > System Configuration > LMS_ADMIN properties file.
  2. Set the below property to false, if the business does not require JAM integration with LMS.


Note: After settings the above property to "false" it will disable Jam intergation/ Partial Jam Integration.

Solution 2:

  1. Navigate to System Admin > Configuration > System Configuration > BIZX properties file.
  2. Update below setting for CubeTreeBaseURL if the business will use JAM integration with LMS.


*Note: The Jam URL should coordinate with the BizX data center URL.  Reference the below table for the correct URL for the related instance.

Solution 3:

  1. Navigate to System Admin > Configuration > System Configuration > BIZX properties file.
  2. Make sure the URL in the "baseURL=" line does not have a "/" at its end. If it does, remove it and click Apply Changes.
