2422577 - SYSAM - Cannot generate a Sybase license file on Linux platform which do not have a NIC named 'eth0'


  • Sysam utility cpuinfo or lmutil return NULL (empty) or '000000000000' value for hostid
  • Without a valid hostid, it is impossible to generate a license file.



  • All SAP SYSAM enbles products, including:
    • SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE)
    • SAP Replication Server
    • SAP IQ
    • Sybase ESP (Event Stream Processor)
  • Linux platform without 'eth0' NIC
