Errors in merge during Data Cleansing:
Merge completed - Realignment Failed.
Realignment failed for Activity XXX (where XXX represents Activity)
Replace of parties is rejected because determined automatically
Business Partner replace failed
Reproducing the Issue
1. Go to Data Cleansing workcenter.
2. Open Merge ID: YYY (where YYY represents Merge ID).
3. Go to Result Log facet.
4. Download error list Application Log, you will find above mentioned errors.
The E-mails from the obsolete records are not being re-aligned with the merged record.
This happens because of the activities which are part of these obsolete account triggers an error message during re-alignment of merge.
The current behavior is that you can change what is allowed to be changed in that object state. In this case the E-mail status is Complete. If you would try to change one of the email parties you won't be able to as most of the fields are read only in this state.
This is then also true for the account merge process as well.
The system behavior cannot be changed as per customer requirement as it will affect not only E-mails but all other objects that can be linked to an account and have a state that doesn't allow change.
