The categories that are displayed on the catalog search are controled by a setting on the LMS_ADMIN property file.

You can disable these categories by following these steps:

  1. On the Learning Administration, navigate to System Admin > Configuration > System Configuration > CATALOG;
  2. After Editing the CATALOG, search for ‘catalogSearchCategories’;
  3. You will notice these categories available to be set to true or false:
    • catalogSearchCategories[Curricula]=true
    • catalogSearchCategories[External]=true
    • catalogSearchCategories[OnlineCourses]=true
    • catalogSearchCategories[OtherLearning]=true
    • catalogSearchCategories[Program]=true
    • catalogSearchCategories[QuickGuide]=true
    • catalogSearchCategories[Collection]=true
  4. Change any of these lines to false to disable it. Sample: catalogSearchCategories[External]=false
  5. Click on Apply Changes button to save these changes.
