Symptom
You have scoped the Netting of payables and receivables functionality available as of Business ByDesign 1605 release and defined a business partner as both Account (customer) and Supplier, what is called a Mixed Account.
After such setup, your expectation is that for this business partner, supplier invoices released will be visible as open items under Customer Account Monitor and also the opposite (i.e. customer invoices released will be visible as open items under Supplier Account Monitor), however, this is not happening.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Receivables work center.
- Go to the Customer Accounts view.
- Select the respective Account ID and click View.
Under Trade Receivables tab, show Open Items and notice that the respective supplier invoices are not displayed.
Cause
This is the system expected behavior. The Netting for payables and receivables functionality for mixed accounts allows you to clear payables against receivables, however you'll only see the invoices of the other part when you start a new manual clearing from the Customer Account Monitor or Supplier Account Monitor.
Resolution
To take advantage of the netting functionality for a mixed account you should initiate a manual clearing from either the Customer Account Monitor or the Supplier Account Monitor.
For example:
- Go to the Receivables work center.
- Go to the Customer Accounts view.
- Select the respective Account ID and click View.
- Under Trade Receivables tab, show Open Items.
- Select an open item (e.g. customer invoice) and click Clear Manually.
On the New Manual Clearing screen, you will see the payables (e.g. supplier invoices) and could match them with receivables to do the clearing.
