You have checked vertex connection in the communication arrangement, however a ping fails with error.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Application and user Management work center.
- Go to Communication Arrangements view
- Edit the Vertex communication arrangement.
- Click Edit Advanced Setting.
- Click Check Connection.
The following error is raised: Error accessing service; Service Ping ERROR: Error when calling SOAP Runtime functions: SRT: Processing error in Internet Communication Framework: ("ICF Error when receiving the response: ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_BROKEN") ()
The communication arrangement ping works only for systems which are in the SAP firewalls. In this case, Vertex is outside so ping will always raise this HTTP error.
This error does not necessarily mean that the connection is not working. You may open a document that retrieves tax data from Vertex, e.g. Sales Order, and check whether the automatic tax determination happens in the Items tab.
