2309244 - Error "Service Call failed; Report an incident" While Migrating Leads

Symptom

You are in the process of migrating Leads and system throws below error message:

Service call failed; Report an incident

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center
  2. Select Implementation Projects view or Overview.
  3. Search and Open the migration activity for Leads
  4. Execute Migration for the respective Migration File

Cause

There are many causes that may lead to this issue. Some of them are listed below,

Resolution

Case 1:

You have entered values for the columns Individual Customer First Name, Individual Customer Last Name, Person First Name and Person Last Name.

However you are entering the values for Person First Name and Person Last Name then its not required to enter values for Individual Customer First Name and Individual Customer Last Name.

Resolution: Remove the values from Individual Customer First Name and Individual Customer Last Name then try the migration again

Case 2:

You are entering in column Status a value, which are not currently defined in Business Configuration.

Resolution: You could check and define the status of Leads in Activity Lead and Maintain Categories.

Case 3:

You are using field Existing Account as X and after that you are not filling the required parameters in other fields.

Resolution: If you are setting Existing Account = X, then please do not enter any Account and Contact data, e.g. Account Name, Contact Name, Account Address Info, Contact Working Communication Info. Since we are not creating an account and contact, just we are assigning those Account and Contact into Lead and also if you are adding only one primary contact, don't enter anything in the tab Contact, enter it in the tab General and field Contact ID.

Similarly in the tab All Involved Parties, don't enable Primary. Since when creating Lead, the party determination will be triggered, normally the Sales Employee and Employee Responsible Person will be automatically determined.

Case 4:

You are creating a Lead with wrong Status

Resolution: You need to create a Lead with the Initial Status which is defined in the Business configuration work center. You can leave the field Status as Empty or you can fill it as 01
