2299174 - Error Message: Unit ABC is Not Discrete.

While creating a new inspection you receive the error:

Unit ABC is Not Discrete

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Production Control work center
  2. Under Common Task select New Inspection view.
  3. Select relevant Reference ID and Product ID
  4. Go to Next, and input Sample Quanity as XX m .
  5. Select Finish
  6. The error is triggered.

Unit selected for sample quanity cannot be considered as discrete because it can exist as decimal value and it can be further broken down to fractions.

Example: In this case qty m (meter) can exist as decimals and it can be broken down to further fractions.

Use discrete unit of measure like each, barrel etc while creating inspection.

For example: 1 Ea(each). A bag cannot be cut into half, hence EA is considered discrete similarly barrels.

Note: Sample size and lot size should be discrete.
