Reproducing the Issue
- When the “Send notification from:” option in the Mail Tab is set to “Select from list” and email addresses are entered on Applying changes (System Admin > Configuration> Global variable >Mail)
- An admin receives the error when trying to use the send notification option.
This issue occurs when there is no email address associated with the admin performing the action in LMS.
The admin who is performing the action, sending notification or adding email address to the list in global variables, must have an email address associated to his/her own admin account.
To check the if there is an email address associated to the admin account:
1. Navigate to Admin -> System Admin -> Application Admin -> Admin Management -> Search for the Admin ID and check the Email Address field.
2. The error only appears if the Select from list option is checked since the system adds the email address of the administrator who is attempting to send the notification to the top of this list automatically, and the administrator can select any one of those email addresses. Hence it is necessary for the admin performing the action to have an email associated with his/her admin account.
