Symptom
- Support request for BOTH a HAR log file and a Console log file
- An HTTP archive (HAR) file (Chrome or Edge Browser developer tools network trace) AND console log file is required to help troubleshoot system errors and performance issues in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), especially when SAP cannot reproduce the issue.

Resolution
If support has requested both har and console files - provide both files.
Note: Please do not perform a performance trace at the same time as the following steps (referenced in 2413393 - How to record timelines in Chrome Developer Tools). Please run them separately.
- Open the Chrome or Edge Browser Developer Tools from the menu (under Settings and more (...) > More tools > Developer tools) or by pressing Ctrl + Shift + I (or the F12 function key) on your keyboard when the browser is in focus and the SAC web client is open.
- Go to the Network Tab and make sure that the circle in the top-left corner is red, if it is gray, click it to start recording.
- Add/open Console tab by typing ESC key or through vertical three dots top right menu and select “Show console drawer”.
- Clear the Network and Console log by clicking the circles with the line through it.
- Click the checkbox Preserve log.
- Reproduce the issue or performance problem by performing all the steps when the issue or error is observed.
Note: Creating a video at the same time is recommended. - When you have finished reproducing the issue, click the top left recording button to stop the recording. Please note that if you have a request that is timing out, that request will not be saved unless you let it time out.
e.g. If you have a request that times out after 5 minutes, you must wait the 5 minutes before clicking to stop, otherwise the timed out request will not be included in the resulting HAR log. - Right click the requests grid of Network and click “Save all as HAR with content”.
- Right click the requests grid of Console and click “Save as” type LOG file.
- Attach the HAR file and LOG files to the case.
NOTE: As of Chrome version 130, the download option has changed. The right click menu option no longer saves the entire HAR file but removes the responses. Instead, please use the download HAR file option as in the screenshot below.
For Chrome Prior to version 130.
Tip: Add -pusher to the filter field to remove irrelevant entries to help review requests, responses, messages and errors/exceptions in the HAR trace file.
