2253283 - Admins cannot see entities for all the domains although there are no domain restrictions in the role


As an admin when you search for any entities, only few users show up that belong to a certain domain, however, the admin does not have any domain restrictions the results returned are of only certain domains.

The admin added few domains in the Viewable Domains.

  1. Admin main page>
  2. Click on the "Gear" right next to the Reports/References.
  3. Click on "Viewable Domains"

  • Viewable Domains works as a search filter, and in some cases a filter when generating reports. When admins searches for entities in the system, it will always display the data for those domains only.
  • For example, if you have access to domains HR, Finance and Warehouse, but usually work with domains HR and Finance only, it's possible to set the viewable domains show only these 2 domains by adding them under the Viewable Domains.
  • Once it's defined HR and Finance, Public domain will also be out of searches.
  • To add domains to the filter, click Edit and then add the domains that you want to view.
  • In case you would wish to have the admin access all the domains then just remove all the domains from the Viewable Domains.
