2197581 - Error 512 or Signal 11 raised by queries with IN list from a subquery - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • User queries with the IN list from a subquery may fail with Error 512:

Msg 512, Level 16, State 4: Server 'ASE_157',
Line 1:Subquery returned more than 1 value.
This is illegal when the subquery follows=, !=, <, <= , >, >=, or when the subquery is used as an expression.Command has been aborted 

  • They can also fail with an error "Infected with Signal 11" followed by a stack trace that is different on IBM AIX and Linux.
     
  •  "Infected with Signal 11"  with a stack trace on IBM AIX:
