You get an error message when you try to change or close the payroll period.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Payroll Processing Workcenter
- Go to Payroll Run
- Select the relevant run
- Click on Close Pay Period an Error message is displayed: Payroll period cannot be completed; Next Payroll Period does not Exist
The cause for the error is that when you are trying to close the current payroll period on a particular date, there is no continuous payroll period starting immediately.
You need to maintain the payroll periods in continuation with the period that you are changing/closing so that system can identify the next current payroll period.
