2117030 - Promotion Management user security is not migrated with the reports for third-party users

Symptom

In Promotion Management, when you migrate a report with user security then it is observed that the principals are not holding on to the Folders when they are imported with Live to Live or Live to BIAR option.

The scenario explained in this article is only applicable if the authentication system[SAP, AD, LDAP] is same in source and destination BO environments.

In case of SAP authentication if the source and destination BO systems are mapped to different SAP authentication servers you will have to setup security seperatly in the source and destination. This is because when the SAP users\Roles are imported to the BO systems they are assigned a prefix e.g V73~100\USER1 and promotion management cannot not change this prefix according to the destination authentication system. As an alternate method you may refer the KBA 1857539 which explains best practices for usergroup management when importing users from external authentication servers.
