Symptom

  • You have created a Report Table/Ad Hoc report in your instance and would like to export the report definition so that you can import it to another instance.
  • For example, there is a Report Table/Ad Hoc report in your Test/Preview instance and you'd like to copy it to the Production instance.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
  • Report Centre
  • Ad Hoc Reporting

Resolution

  • You can export or import an Ad Hoc Report/Report Table among instances via the Export Report Definitions functionality and also upload the report definition .sfr file.
  • Such functionality allows saving the report file in the sfr format which is an extension file specifically for Ad Hoc reports.
  • The file will include everything defined in the Ad Hoc report, including BIRT templates & Datasets, so you can simply export the report definition from one instance (Source) and import it into the other (Target).

You can export/import the Report Definition as follows:

Report Centre

  1. To export the report. Go to Report Centre and select the desired report table from the list. In this example "ReportCentrePermission"
  2. From the Action Menu select the Export option
