Alter database may report the following:

Extending database by 102400 pages (400.0 megabytes) on disk diskdefault

No large buffers were available, so pages are being cleared by writing each page separately. Please be patient; XXXXXX pages are being written, which may take a substantial amount of time. (Rough estimate: YY minutes.)
