The timing of releasing object, index and partition metadata descriptors has been changed since Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15.0.
If those metadata descriptors are insufficient, ASE attempts to recycle the descriptors which are currently unused.
However, ASE 15.0 and 15.5 do not recycle the descriptors bound to tables or indexes which have been updated even if the descriptors are not currently used by any session.
