1760299 - Non-English characters are damaged

Symptom

Non-English string characters or special characters appear damaged in the following scenarios:

  • The data is inserted into SQL Server via an ABAP program from SAP system. When selecting the inserted data with the SQL Server Management Studio or third-party products, the characters appear damaged.But on SAP system, the data is correct.

  • The data is inserted into SQL Server via a third-party product. When reading this data on SAP system,  characters appear damaged even though on SQL Server level the characters are ok.
