1709418 - How to use the Event Trace for troubleshooting


  • You trigger a receiver (workflow template, standard task, function module, etc.) with an object event. For some reason the receiver is not being triggered or started. You need to see if the triggering event is being raised in the system or not.
  • You use the Event Queue to control delivery of events and you notice that there are events in the queue which are in error. You want to see what that error is exactly.
  • You want to know if a certain application transaction raises an event in the system. There may be several transactions that carry out the same function but you need to determine which one if any raises an event because you want to trigger a workflow when the transaction is executed in the system.
