1549690 - Crystal Reports with parameters prompts for database logon.


  • When a web application is run on a client machine or on a server to view Crystal Reports using parameters, it prompts for login
  • Same report runs on the development machine without prompting for login.


  • Windows Server 2008 (64 bit).
  • Visual Studio 2010.
  • CRVS2010
  • Web application.

Reproducing the Issue

  • Create a report using parameters.
  • Use windows authentication (Integrated Security) for retrieving data.


  • Go to IIS.
  • Right Click on the 'Application Pool' used by application > Advanced Settings.
  • In Advanced Settings, under  'Process Model' section, select Identity.


  • Change the Identity to "NetworkService".


Note: The NetworkService account should have a login in SQL Server, and also permission on the Windows Temp folder.
