1548304 - Unable to View All Sales Orders in a Report Which is Based on the Standard Data Source Sales Order Item

Symptom

You have defined your own report on the Sales Order Item data source to show all Sales Orders. But the report does not show all Sales Orders.

Environment

SAP Business by Design

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Analytics work center.
  2. Select the Design Reports view.
  3. Select the New->Report button.
  4. Use the Report Wizard to define your own report based on the standard data source Sales Order Item (technical ID CRMSLOIB).
  5. Execute the report to view all Sales Orders.

You are not able to see all Sales orders which are visible in the Sales Orders view of Sales Orders work center.

Cause

The standard data source Sales Order Item (ID CRMSLOIB) includes only released and consistent Sales Orders. Implies data source does not include documents which have the status Not Released. The reason is as follows:

The documents in status Not Released have the semantical meaning of draft or preliminary versions. Therefore, these are not intended to appear in the report which show aggregated information on Sales Orders. The same applies for documents in status "inconsistent". Since these could contain misleading or even wrong data. In order to avoid these effects, a central filter was implemented which only passes Released and Consistent documents. This central filter applies for the entire data source Sales Order Items (CRMSLOIB). Therefore, all reports which are built on the data source CRMSLOIB show only released and consistent Sales Orders.
