Symptom
A report is created in Crystal Reports 8.5. The SQL query generated by Crystal Reports 8.5 was then modified by the creator of the report. When attempting to open the report in a later version of Crystal Reports either:
An error message appears. The actual message will depend on the connection and database type. A RESET button appears in the SQL Query box.
-OR-
Crystal Reports stops responding.
Resolution
Do one of the following:
Click the 'Reset' button in the 'Show SQL Query' dialog box. You cannot reset this in code through an SDK.
-OR-
Use a command object as the data source. Command objects allow for customization of SQL queries.
